WELCOME BACK TO D3, FOR TERM 2, 2017!!!
We have had a great first day back for the term.
D3 performed Station 15: The Resurrection in the wharenui as part of our liturgy. It was amazing and we gained high praise from Mr Piper.
In our reflection books, everyone wrote a personal goal for the day, as we focused on someone we think has done something great with their life and that we admire and look up to. We shared our goal so we could support each other to reach them. By the end of the day most of us felt really positive about how well we had reached our goal. Yay us!
We learned about how to calculate the Mean, Median, Mode and Range of a data set and now we will apply this learning to our survey data, ready to present our findings to Mr Piper. We were all proud of our learning in Maths today. Google Classroom has the information and practice suggestions for this.
We are finishing book reviews for our Term 1 novel, Bridge To Terabithia, tomorrow ready for display in the class. Some will be selected for display in the Library in Term 3.
Term 2 has started brilliantly!!!

D3 were so proud to present our Assembly on bullying in week 8, Term 1. Mrs Schofield was really proud of us for coming up with a theme we all felt was important and for getting our message across. It was great to have STRIVE cme especially to support us and see how much they taught us during our sessions with them.
Here is a link to the slideshow we presented as part of our assembly. Enjoy!

On the 5th of April we had a phenomenal author Zee Southcombe come in and visit us, sharing creative ideas and ways to make our writing more interesting. We were put in the shoes of a wonderful author and how she came up with significant ideas. From struggling at first in writing to succeeding later on in life as an illustrator/author. Zee has inspired children around New Zealand including us and she will continue to inspire all the children around the world.

On April 4th there was a whole school Duffy role model assembly. Our two role models were Leilani Momoisea who was a radio journalist and Kohine from Chemcouriers. We were told about what happens in the life of a radio-journalist and that you have to have read a lot to become one. Our amazing role models than handed out the Duffy boxes and took a photo with our lovely role models. A big thanks to Leilani and Kohine for making time to come to our school.

D3 received our postcards from our buddy class in Timaru on the 27 of March. We found out a lot about our buddy class as they hopefully did with ourselves. Firstly we read about our buddy class from the information sheet that was sent along with the postcards and also compared their answers to our own.We than got into a circle and read a couple of their postcards each then pieced it together.
